Benefits of HRT

Reduces Hot Flushes

HRT is the most effective treatment for vasomotor symptoms. Most women experience a significant reduction in hot flushes and night sweats within weeks of starting treatment.

Improves Sleep

By reducing night sweats and regulating hormonal fluctuations, HRT helps restore healthy sleep patterns, leaving you more rested and refreshed each morning.

Mood & Mental Wellbeing

Hormonal imbalance during menopause can cause anxiety, low mood, and irritability. HRT can significantly stabilise mood and restore emotional equilibrium and mental clarity.

Protects Bone Density

Oestrogen plays a key role in maintaining bone strength. HRT helps prevent the accelerated bone loss that occurs after menopause, significantly reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

Improves Libido

Low oestrogen and testosterone during menopause can significantly reduce sexual desire. Hormone replacement, including testosterone where indicated, can restore libido and sexual wellbeing.

Expert Ongoing Support

Our doctors provide continuous, personalised care , adjusting your treatment, reviewing blood results, and supporting you through every stage of your menopause journey.

What We Help With

Symptoms We Treat

Hot Flushes & Night Sweats

The most common menopause symptom, caused by hormonal changes affecting the body's temperature regulation. HRT is the most effective treatment available.

Sleep Disturbance

Night sweats, anxiety, and hormonal fluctuations disrupt sleep for many menopausal women. Restoring hormonal balance with HRT often leads to significant sleep improvement.

Mood Changes & Anxiety

Declining oestrogen affects neurotransmitter function, contributing to low mood, anxiety, tearfulness, and irritability. HRT can restore emotional balance for many women.

Brain Fog

Difficulty concentrating, forgetfulness, and mental fatigue are common in perimenopause and menopause. Oestrogen supports brain function, and HRT can help restore cognitive clarity.

Low Libido

Reduced sexual desire affects many women going through menopause. Oestrogen and testosterone therapy can restore libido and improve sexual wellbeing and comfort.

Joint Aches

Many women experience joint pain and stiffness during menopause. Oestrogen has an anti-inflammatory effect on joints, and HRT can provide meaningful relief for musculoskeletal symptoms.

Vaginal Dryness

Low oestrogen causes vaginal atrophy, leading to dryness, discomfort, and pain during intercourse. Local vaginal oestrogen is highly effective and safe for most women.

What Our
Customers Say

Don't just take our word for it. Here's what real patients have to say about their experience at The One Clinic.

I visited the clinic for removal of a haemangioma on my forehead. Initially, surgery was discussed due to the size, but during the appointment the doctor decided that laser treatment was the better and less invasive option. The procedure itself was quick and straightforward, and I was reassured throughout. After the appointment, I realised there had been some confusion on my side regarding the pricing, as the invoice still reflected surgical treatment. I raised this with the clinic, and the difference was refunded promptly and without any issues. I really appreciated how professionally and fairly this was handled. Overall, a positive experience — good clinical judgement, clear results, and excellent customer service. I'd be happy to recommend the clinic.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

HRT is typically considered for women experiencing moderate to severe menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, brain fog, sleep disturbance, vaginal dryness, and reduced libido. During your consultation, your doctor will take a full symptom history, discuss your medical background, and assess whether HRT is appropriate for you , and if so, which type and dose would suit you best.

For most women, the benefits of HRT significantly outweigh the risks when prescribed appropriately. Modern HRT, particularly body-identical preparations, has an excellent safety profile. Your doctor will review your personal and family medical history to identify any contraindications and select the safest formulation for you. HRT is not suitable for all women, and this will be discussed openly and honestly at your consultation.

No referral is required. You can book directly with The One Clinic. If specialist gynaecological input is needed , for example, for complex menopause cases or concerns requiring further investigation , we will arrange this referral promptly on your behalf.

Perimenopause is the transitional phase leading up to menopause, during which oestrogen levels begin to fluctuate and symptoms such as irregular periods, hot flushes, and mood changes may begin. Menopause is confirmed after 12 consecutive months without a period. Both stages can be effectively managed with HRT and lifestyle support.

This depends on your individual situation and the type of breast cancer you had. For most women with a history of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer, systemic HRT is generally not recommended. However, local vaginal oestrogen may still be an option. Our doctors will discuss your history in detail and, where appropriate, liaise with your oncologist before making any prescribing decision.
